Arthritis
Arthritis is the inflammation of a joint. Every joint in the body from the jaw to the little toe can be affected. However, arthritis usually occurs in the finger joints. The inflammation is usually accompanied by pain, overheating, redness and swelling of the joint. However, depending on the cause, the signs can vary in severity.
Causes arthritis
Arthritis belongs to the autoimmune diseases. This means that misdirected autoimmune processes cause the immune system to attack the cartilage tissue. The inflammation of the joints is divided into bacterial and non-bacterial (rheumatoid) arthritis.
Arthritis is often confused with arthrosis. However, while arthritis describes an inflammation of the joints that can lead to serious joint damage, the opposite is true of arthrosis. Here, joint damage leads to inflammation.
Symptoms
The complaints in the early stages of arthritis include typical symptoms of inflammation such as general weakness, fatigue, tiredness and also weight loss.
A slightly elevated body temperature and muscle and bone pain can also be the first signs of the disease. However, symptoms typical of rheumatism, such as swollen joints, may also occur.
Diagnosis
The basis of arthritis diagnostics is a detailed discussion with the doctor. The examination helps to distinguish between bacterial and non-bacterial joint inflammation.
In the former, usually only one joint is affected, which is swollen and overheated. In addition, there is a visible joint effusion, in which fluid and pus accumulate in the joint. If several joints are involved, this is usually an indication of rheumatoid arthritis.
Treatment arthritis
In the case of bacterial arthritis, the joint is usually treated surgically. In the case of large joints, an arthroscopy is also performed. During this procedure, the inflamed joint material is removed – sometimes together with the joint mucosa. The inflamed joint is then rinsed and cleaned.
In the case of arthritis caused by rheumatism, only therapy is necessary. This can be carried out in a supportive manner with the Spectra-H lux. The laser therapy device is based on four simultaneously working energy sources (soft laser , magnetic field, red and infrared light), whose combined effect sustainably alleviates pain and increases the chances of rapid rehabilitation. In this way, the problem is literally tackled at the root, for example, to accelerate cell tissue renewal and reduce swelling.
